Tuesday, February 18, 2014, 07:00pm

Tuesday February 18th, 2014 Event More info and register here.

This month we have some hot new tools for a very cold New York winter. Our friends from Thinkbox Software usually visit us in the spring but we’re bringing them back early this year, to heat thing up with their latest additions to three of their production proven software lineup. There is in fact so much to cover we’re going to have to skip the Eat-n-Greet portion of the night and jump right into business.

Event Start 7:00 pm.

Our February event will be held at the Manhattan Autodesk office space located at 38 West 21st Street on the 9th Floor, New York NY 10011. You must RSVP to attend and if you have not attended one of our prior events, you must also fill out our registration survey online prior to arriving.

Main Presentation:

A Look At Jigsaw And More From The Thinkbox Toolbox

Joining us This February is long time friend and Maxscript guru Borislav “Bobo” Petrov from Thinkbox Software. Bobo will be covering new features and tools within Deadline 6.1, Stoke MX 2.0, and Krakatoa MX 2.3. If you’ve never heard of these tools or just haven’t had the pleasure of working with them you should definitely some down and check them out with Bobo in the driver’s seat. Of special interest is a new tool in Deadline called Jigsaw which allows users to define any number of arbitrarily-sized rectangular regions in the frame, even sub-divide some of them procedurally into a grid, and submit each sub-region to a separate network machine to render only the part needed. Then Deadline uses Draft to automate combining these fragments together, or even composite them over a previous version of the frame, eliminating the need to re-render an entire frame every time a small change here is required. As always the guys from Thinkbox will take time to answer any questions attendees may have.
